Oscar Piastri thinks that the 2024 McLaren F1 season could be a support to seek more success in the future. The one who played his second season in Formula 1 wants to be ready if his team manages to follow up with a good season in 2025.
“I hope so” Piastri told SiriusXM. “I think it's a big improvement on a personal level. For the team too, it's a big step forward. As for me, I know I still have room to go and things to improve, but I think I've made a lot of progress this year.”
“And I'm looking forward to trying to work on my opportunities in the offseason and start again next year, because I really feel like this could be the start of something special. So I'm going to make sure you're ready to take on the challenge.”
The Australian admits that he never imagined competing in a Formula 1 world title at the age of 23: “This success is obviously the result of a year of hard work, or even more, this journey that we have really transformed is the result of two years of work.”
“And it's a real pleasure to be part of it. I never would have imagined that at this stage of my life and my career, I would be part of a world champion team. So I am very proud to everyone for what we managed to accomplish.”
