Alpine F1 consultant Flavio Briatore reveals he has promised Renault Group boss Luca de Meo his F1 team's success within three years.
Briatore, who returned to the Renault-owned team earlier this year, praised the team's comeback to finish the constructors' championship in sixth place.
“It’s everyone’s result and I really want to congratulate everyone because it’s team spirit, that’s what I want.”
“I promised Luca de Meo to put together a winning team in three years, or thereabouts.”
Alpine has become “very, very strong at the end of the season. Pierre [Gasly] did an incredible job. And Jack [Doohan] was good, for the first race it was good.”
“We have to stay strong together, have a few more people with experience in the team. But I like this new Alpine.”
“The racing team is completely changing. Pit stops, we are competitive now. Now we have a real racing team. That's what I want. We know how to produce a car, but now we produce a fast car . And with Pierre, I really discovered a great pilot.”
