A 33-year-old bettor from Gard had bet 10 cents on the double podium of Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon at the Brazilian GP, this Sunday, November 3. A crazy bet for odds of 160,000.
If he had bet 10 euros, he would be a millionaire today. Christopher, a 33-year-old from Gardois, had great flair by banking on a podium finish for the French Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly at the Brazilian GP. His bet of 10 euro cents on this odds at 160,000 allowed him to pocket 16,000 euros.
As a reminder, the race which took place in difficult conditions was won by Max Verstappen, although he started in 17th position on the starting grid. The two French Alpine drivers were able to pull the chestnuts out of the fire to finish on the other steps of the podium.
“I would like to know the person who bet on this”laughed Esteban Ocon after the race. “If there is one, she’s a true genius.”added his teammate Pierre Gasly.
“It’s very long”
Ce “genius“, it's Christopher, professional firefighter in Gard. “The question I've been asked the most since then is why didn't I put more?” he explained on the microphone of RMC.
A Formula 1 lover, he says he never misses a grand prix. “On Thursday, when I got the news that it was going to rain, I sent lots of little handsets, he explained. 50 euros in total to spice up my race a little”,
“When the red flag comes out, I start to tell myself that it’s possible for the two French people, but there were still more than 30 laps left, so it’s very long.” And the Gardois concludes: “At the end I didn’t even watch the race anymore, I only looked at the gaps between Russell and Gasly.”
