F1 – Red Bull: New position for Verstappen’s engineer

Things are moving at Red Bull. While it is going through a difficult period without a single victory in the last 7 Grands Prix, the Austrian team is redistributing its forces internally at the dawn of the next campaign. It is in particular the sporting direction department that has been reworked after the confirmation of the departure of Jonathan Wheatley, expected at Sauber/Audi in a team principal role.

Thus, his position will no longer be occupied by a single person, Red Bull having decided to distribute the forces between three members already present within the team as reported by https://twitter.com/ErikvHaren/status/1836333114987286603 : Gianpiero Lambiase, Steve Knowles and Rich Wolverson.

The former is the best known, due to his position as Max Verstappen’s race engineer in addition to being responsible for race engineering at Red Bull. From now on, GP will be responsible for the Austrian team’s competition, overseeing the sporting side of the structure.

This will not, however, imply any change to the Dutch driver he led to his three world titles. Indeed, Giapiero Lambiase will retain his position as Max Verstappen’s race engineer in 2025.
