Ben O’Connor maintains his place as leader, despite a scare on the last climb of the day (Puerto Cruxeiras). The Australian from the Decathlon-AG2R La Mondiale team lost 37 seconds to Primoz Roglic (Red Bull – Bora – Hansgrohe) and Enric Mas (Movistar).

A tough blow for Breton David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ) who has been ousted from the Top 10 by New Zealander George Bennett (Israel – Premier Tech). The Frenchman was the last French rider to feature among the top ten of this Tour of Spain (10e before departure).
