The match: 2-1

The stakes were high for Lille as they were for French football and, after a breathless match, history was definitely there. Despite their 2-0 victory in the first leg, LOSC suffered terribly on the pitch of Slavia Prague, trailing from the 5th minute, before spending the entire match holding their breath. But Bruno Genesio’s team hung on, equalized before finally losing by the smallest of margins (1-2) which was enough for their happiness: they will play in the League phase of the new C1 formula when France will have, for the very first time, four representatives in the competition.
