Are Covid cases on the rise in Loiret?

Even if the situation is not alarming, cases of Covid-19 have been increasing since mid-May in Loiret.

There is the impression. The feeling that Covid cases are increasing in Loiret; that the virus hits a little harder than in recent months. And then, there are the figures from the regional unit of Public Health France. The two come together.

The finding is based on data from emergency room visits and data from SOS Médecins Orléans. “An increase in visits to the emergency room has been observed since mid-May, but at a level which remains low. We went from five visits to the emergency room for suspected Covid-19 in week 20 (May 13-19) to 14 in week 24 (June 10-16) and an activity rate (share of visits for suspected Covid-19 / all visits to emergency) which increased from 0.04% (week 20) to 0.1% (week 24) “, indicates the regional unit of Public Health France.

Activities on the rise at SOS Médecins

The trend is identical to SOS Médecins. An increase in acts has been observed since mid-May with the exception of week 24 (June 10-16). In week 24, the number of procedures for suspected Covid-19 was 3, or 0.2% of SOS Médecins procedures (1.2% with 14 procedures the previous week).

Mental disorders have become, in 2022, the leading item of Health Insurance expenditure

The regional unit of Public Health France is not alarmist. “In the week of June 17 to 23, SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) continued to circulate in the population, but the impact on the healthcare system remained moderate. Although the indicators were increasing but were always at levels lower than those of the last two waves, particularly for visits to the emergency room and hospitalizations after visits. The waves of Covid-19 are not systematically linked to the emergence of a new variant, but can be linked to. individual immunity and population behaviors that can promote transmission of the virus.
