This October 15, 2024 will mark the start of the vaccination campaign against influenza and Covid-19, notes the official website of the French administration. It has already started in Mayotte since September 10, 2024. Vaccination is 100% covered for populations at risk. To do this, the people concerned will receive a vaccination voucher allowing free delivery of the vaccine.
The authorities emphasize that it is “advisable to carry out vaccination before the active circulation of influenza viruses”. Indeed, following the injection, the body needs two additional weeks to form the necessary antibodies.
This vaccination campaign begins as an intensification of the circulation of the Covid virus seems to be beginning in France, notes Health Insurance which underlines that “the monitoring indicators (in town and in hospital) of Covid-19 are on the rise, this increase being driven by adults and more particularly those aged 65 and over”.
As Health Insurance explains, regarding vaccination against Covid-19, “it is strongly recommended that people most at risk of severe form receive a dose of vaccine in the fall”. The goal is to maintain immunity to the virus.
