Mme Trump tapped American brand Adam Lippes for his custom-made navy blue dress, magazine reports Vogue.
However, it was his Eric Javits hat that caught the attention of many observers.
Her headgear hides part of her face à la Audrey Hepburn.
He even embarrassed President Trump when it came time to kiss him during the swearing-in ceremony.

“In everything she usually wears, there is a message,” says TVA Nouvelles correspondent in Washington, Richard Latendresse. Does she want to show that she is hidden and cannot be seen? People are asking the question.”

“You had to look carefully and look furtively because the hat is there to hide any other expression that you might glimpse throughout the ceremony,” says political analyst Yasmine Abdelfadel.
“It’s very chic, but it’s a bit unusual to see the American first lady with a hat that covers her face,” she adds. We remember, four years ago, there was Bernie Sanders with his mittens, there, I think there will be Melania Trump’s hat.
Internet users were quick to speculate on the outfit.
Some have put forward theories as to what would have prompted the first lady to choose such clothing.
Others have made multiple comparisons.
