After the historic triumph of the return of bigdil on RMC Story, Vincent Lagaf addressed Fabrice Bailly, current director of programs at TF1. He returns to his remarks to TV Mag.
This is an unexpected outcome for Vincent Lagaf. On January 2, RMC Story decided to relaunch The Bigdila show which was the heyday of TF1 between 1998 and 2004, with its historic host. Same credits, same decor, same Gafettes… Even Bill, the alien in 3D, still animated by Gilles Vautier was back for a formula which has not changed a single comma compared to the last version broadcast twenty years previously. And it was a success: the first episode established an audience record for the channelwith 1.8 million viewers and a peak at 2 million. RMC Story has had the luxury of being 50,000 viewers close to surpassing TF1 and France 3.
“This little tackle did me a lot of good“: Vincent Lagaf returns to this dig thrown at the director of the TF1 channel
After such figures, Vincent Lagaf was invited to speak about this success on BFMTV. “I am very happy and very happy […] This morning, when I was told the good news, it was more than pleasant. First of all, I would like to dedicate this success to Fabrice Bailly, the director of the TF1 channel.“, he said in his interview. This Tuesday, January 7, the host returned to this dig that he sent live on air. “To be very honest, this little tackle did me a lot, a lot, a lot of good. Granted that I didn’t tackle TF1, far be it from me to spit in the soup. But I had an old score to settle with Fabrice Bailly“, he confides to our colleagues at TV Mag.
“It was the unexpected opportunity“: Vincent Lagaf justifies his attack on TF1 after the card on the return of bigdil sur RMC Story
But what happened for the director of the TF1 channel to have the right to such a tribute from Vincent Lagaf? “17 years ago, he had been below everything in terms of elegance. At the time, I did The Bigdil, The Right Price et Boom, I was no longer under contract with TF1. During a lunch at the chain’s restaurant, I proposed to Jean-François Lancelier [directeur des antennes, des programmes et de la production, NDLR] and Fabrice Bailly to resume The Bigdil, but in prime time and once in a while. In response, Fabrice Bailly threw me in the face: ‘It’s an excellent idea, we should still change the host and the name of the show’. From, I had it across my throat. How can this guy allow himself to talk to someone who has worked well for TF1? I had a really bad experience and I told myself that one day or another, I would have the opportunity to punch him in the face again. This was the unexpected opportunity“, he reports. The main person concerned did not respond to him.
