If both have now rebuilt their lives, Christian and Adriana Karembeu formed one of the most glamorous couples of the 2000s. But behind the red carpets and the photographers' flashes, certain cracks have marked the Slovak. And the one who now shares the life of Marc Lavoine revealed them.
Everything happened very quickly for Adriana Karembeu. Arriving in France in the 1990s to work as a top model, the Slovak moved into another dimension by becoming the wife of Christian Karembeu in 1998, the year of the world champion title and the excess that accompanied these Blues who have become heroes.

In many ways, the buxom blonde was the first “WAG”, an English term meaning “wives and girlfriends”, and therefore designating the famous wives and companions of players. But this golden period came to an end, and it was particularly when Christian Karembeu hung up his boots that things turned sour. At Paris-Match, Adriana confided:
When my husband stopped playing, he started living at 300 miles an hour, and I couldn't keep up. We got lost without doing it on purpose. We couldn't find each other. We no longer had a life as a couple. Let's say that we have evolved differently and that we no longer have the same needs. I preferred to leave so as not to ruin everything, not to damage our memories.

Furthermore, the fifty-year-old mentioned another problem in the couple she formed with the man with 53 caps for the French team:
His jealousy? It's a question of culture. He always wanted me to do things with him and couldn't stand it if I went on vacation for eight days with a friend!
It didn't bother me because my whole life revolved around him. Our relationship was so close that, without realizing it, I no longer saw my friends or my family… In this sense, I am perhaps at fault for not having realized that love is also nourished by others. However, I always managed to save my work, even if he would have preferred a thousand times that I stayed at home.
This period, however, belongs to the past, since after another story with a famous businessman, who also allowed her to become a mother, Adriana Karembeu has today found happiness in the arms of Marc Lavoine. An adventure that has lasted for several months now, and which, we hope, is set to continue for a long time.
If she does not deny anything about her years spent alongside Christian Karembeu, to the point of having kept the family name for her public and media life, Adriana Karembeu is convinced that their story could not have been part of the duration at the end of the career of the 1998 world champion. It was therefore she who chose to move towards other horizons – with success.
