Wayne Osmond, iconic music figure and member of the famous family band The Osmonds, has died at the age of 73. The news was confirmed by his loved ones, who expressed their deep sadness.

“Beloved husband and father, he passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and five children,” the statement said. “His legacy of faith, music, love and laughter touched countless lives around the world.” The second of nine siblings, Wayne Osmond began his musical career in 1958 with his brothers Alan, Merrill and Jay in a barbershop-style vocal quartet. Their formation, known as The Osmonds, expanded with the arrival of their brothers Donny and Jimmy. The group enjoyed dazzling success in the 1970s thanks to titles like One Bad Apple and Love Me For a Reason. Their contribution to music earned them a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2003.

On social networks, his brothers paid tribute to him. Jay Osmond expressed his pain while celebrating his brother’s memory. Merrill Osmond revealed that Wayne suffered a massive stroke before his death.
