The two television men, long-time friends, were both guests on the 5 show.

At the end of the year, Canal+ is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Michel Denisot is releasing a souvenir book on the encrypted channel entitled Very first time (Ed. Flammarion). On this occasion, he was the guest of Aurélie Casse in “C l'hebdo” on France 5 this Saturday, November 30. He was alongside Pierre Lescure, luxury columnist for “C à vous” on France 5 and presenter of the show “Beau geste” on France 2.

The two men know each other well and have even been friends for 50 years. It was, in fact, Pierre Lescure who launched Michel Denisot's career. He was also the founder of Canal+. On the show, they talked about their memories while an archive showing them throwing custard tarts at each other was shown. At the end of this extract, columnist Victor Dekyvère asked them what they liked about each other.

Pierre Lescure spoke first: “What struck me and what I immediately liked about Michel was that he was a presenter for “Téléfoot” but above all he was a journalisthe explained. Suddenly, he wasn't asking the same questions as the others. There was never a word too many and at his young age at the time, it was quite astonishing to see someone who had such a spirit of synthesis and the right angle.
“Which means that, when I worked in radio, I was program manager at Radio Monte Carlo, I immediately called Michel to have him do interviews on something other than football. And when we started Canal with De Greef, the first person we called was Michel”he recalled.

“We speak the same language”

Just after, Michel Denisot also praised his sidekick. “For me, at Pierre, it’s the 360-degree journalistic vision that didn’t exist before and which began to exist with Yves Mourousi with whom I had the chance to work for two years doing the 1 p.m. news on TF1. I returned this to Pierre and, in our profession, it’s a luxury”he said.

Aurélie Casse then followed up with the two men by asking them about their first meeting. “Do you remember what you thought of each other? Was it obvious from the start Denisot/Lescure? “, she asked them. “I think we knew we were from the same planet when we saw each other on the radio and I asked Michel to come work at Radio Monte Carlo”confided Pierre Lescure. “Same, I think we speak the same language. We have the same curiosity, a lot of common interests and then the same desire to do our job by adjusting the distance, with a good focal length”concluded Michel Denisot.
