A victory after almost three years of waiting. In mid-December, a man from Ardèche finally obtained reimbursement for his flight canceled by Air France in January… 2022. As Drôme Ardèche tells us here, the airline was condemned by the Marseille court (Bouches -du-Rhône) to pay him the sum of approximately 1,800 euros.
In January 2022, the man was to fly to Madagascar for association reasons. But on the day of departure, while he is already at the airport, he learns at the last minute that his flight is canceled. Air France then does not offer him any transfer to another flight, nor even reimbursement of his plane ticket of around 1,200 euros.
Never give up
Feeling wronged, the Ardéchois decided to launch a procedure with the help of the local branch of the consumer association UFC-Que Choisir. He was supported by Me Wissamm Bayeh, lawyer and vice-president of the association. Questioned by our colleagues, the latter assured that Air France “had to reimburse the ticket” of the traveler given that his flight was canceled the same day.
