Actress Zendaya, nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy for “Challengers”captivated the audience with a magnificent satin orange dress by Louis Vuitton and a mysterious diamond on her left ring finger, fueling rumors of an engagement to Tom Holland. Her ring did not correspond to a Bulgari creation, of which she is the ambassador, since after having changed in the second part of the evening, she had withdrawn the loans from the Italian brand but had not left her diamond at the ‘annular. In a relationship with Tom Holland, met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecomingin 2017, actors who live between the United States and the United Kingdom are rather discreet and rarely appear together on red carpets, unless they are starring in the same film. The young man was nominated for his performance in A complete stranger, the Bob Dylan biopic. He was seen kissing his partner full on the mouth, who preferred to skip the photocall stage. For the occasion, she wore a sparkling silver dress with thin straps while the actor opted for a black suit with a white shirt.
A ceremony full of emotions!
Several films have received great distinctions but France has something to be proud of with the coronation of Emilia Perez by Jacques Audiard. Nominated ten times, the musical drama by the French director walked away with four statuettes, namely that of best musical film, best foreign film but also best supporting role for Zoe Saldana and that of best original song. Jacques Audiard wanted to dedicate his Globe “to all those who feel worried today”. “This award is addressed to them, as an exhortation to keep their heads held high, to continue to fight and hope for better days”he continued. For her part, Zoe Saldana declared: “My heart is filled with gratitude to the Golden Globes for celebrating our film”.
If the Golden Globe for best dramatic film was awarded to “The Brutalist”as well as to Adrien Brody as best dramatic actor, Demi Moore moved the assembly with her speech when receiving the Golden Globe for best actress in a comedy or musical for her role in “The Substance”directed by French filmmaker Coralie Fargeat. “I’m in shock, it’s the first time I’ve won something. 30 years ago, a producer called me a popcorn actress. I believed it. I thought I had finished my career. I received the script for The Substance at the lowest moment of my life. Thanks to Coralie for believing in me”greeted the star of 90s blockbusters, “Thank you for this gift of letting me pursue a profession that I love,” she declared, still in disbelief.
Among other awards, the Golden Globe for Best Drama Actress went to Fernanda Torres, In I’m still here, that of best comedy actor to Sebastian Stan, for A Different Man, et Best Supporting Actor to Kieran Culkinin A Real Pain. For the best achievement, it was Brady Corbet who was crowned for The Brutalist, while the Golden Globe for best screenplay was awarded to Peter Straughan for Conclave. Finally, the prize for best soundtrack went to Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross for Challengers while the trophy for best animated film crowned Flow. Last but not least, it is the adaptation of the musical Wicked which was crowned best performance at the box office.
