For this first Sunday in December, TF1 viewers were able to find, as usual, Seven to Eight, presented by Harry Roselmack. After a report devoted to Claudine, a 79-year-old scammer and poisoner, then a subject on the three representatives of France at Miss Universe, the magazine gave way to the famous Portrait of Audrey Crespo-Mara, around 7:30 p.m. Today's interviewee was none other than Emilie Dequenne, revealed in 1999 by the film Rosetta, directed by the Dardenne brothers.
Far from coming to present her cinematographic news, the Belgian actress came with very bad news: the one who announced last spring that she was in remission from her rare and aggressive cancer of the adrenal gland (adrenocorticoma, a cancer which affects “one to two people in a million per year in the world”), learned the day before the shooting that she was reoffending. “I saw my doctor to check the progress of the treatment and it turns out that, unfortunately, it is not progressing well. There is a part of my cancer which responds to it and another which does not respond to it, even which The part that progresses is bigger than the part that reduces,” she explained, still stunned by the news, to the journalist.

A turnaround in the situation for which she had fortunately prepared herself psychologically: “I felt, this summer, that things were not going very well in my body”. But that doesn't take anything away from the pain of having to undergo very heavy medical procedures again: “here I go again for chemo […] with even a small dose in addition to something new which apparently will “surprise the tumor”, but which requires hospitalization etc, and I will lose my hair again…”, she continued, disillusioned At the same time, the mother must ingest around thirty medications per day…
It's difficult for the actress who won a Caesarean in 2021 not to be nostalgic for her life before. To Audrey Crespo-Mara, she confided that she felt the lack of her carefree past, but also of the professional offers she received at the time. Because, she says, as an intermittent performer, being on forced leave like she is is “a catastrophe”. From 20 euros gross, it rose painfully to 30 euros per day. And things should not get better right away, according to the one who now has the impression of “scaring” the productions.
Internet users very touched by his interview
In any case, this is what a recent experience taught her: while she was in remission, Emilie Dequenne landed a major role in a film. When she learns that it will not be possible for her to honor her contract, the actress warns the director. He then makes him a false promise… “He told me that in any case, there is a small role. I am overjoyed, telling myself that, obviously, shooting for two days, three days … I’m just happy to be able to play,” she recalled. “Time passes and it was while surfing the net that I discovered that… that I had been replaced and that I had not been informed.”
Humble, the actress doesn't hide it: she needs to talk about her illness. Even though she says she is well surrounded, she recognizes that this ordeal arouses in her “a form of extreme solitude”. A message well received by Internet users, many of whom on X expressed their support and love for the actress.
