Thanks to the work of Pristine Seas, 29 of the largest marine reserves on the planet have been created. These reserves, covering an area of more than 6.8 million square kilometers, are areas that will remain intact. The Solomon Islands are a strategic location, located in the heart of the Coral Triangle. Although this archipelago is known for its marine biodiversity, the region is also one of the areas most threatened by human activity and climate change.

This 34 meter by 32 meter coral is so large that it is visible from space, although it has never been spotted before. From the surface it can be mistaken for a wreck. Coral being an animal, it now becomes the largest animal on the planet, surpassing the size of blue whales.

During a bathyscaphe dive alongside Pierre Frolla, “the Sovereign Prince spoke with Enric Sala and Leonardo DiCaprio on his commitment, as well as that of his Foundation, to inclusive conservation of the oceans”explains the Princely Palace. Prince Albert “in particular reaffirmed its commitment to the development and strengthening of Marine Protected Areas, including in areas beyond national jurisdictions. These protected areas are among the most effective tools for preserving the oceans and their biodiversity. »
