But Julia Roberts was not of the same opinion… In an interview given to IndieWirefor the promotion of his next animated film That Christmas, Richard Curtis admitted not wanting to add a sequel to his past films: “I don't think so. I actually did four Red Nose Days and Comic Relief. We did these mini 'Love Actually' sequels and I was happy with those.”he declares.

On the other hand, he explained what he had in mind for Love at first sight in Notting Hill, even if it ultimately did not come to fruition. “I tried to do one with Notting Hill where they were going to divorce, and Julia thought it was a really bad idea“he confides. For him, the bookseller is someone “contemptible”. “Every time I change the channels on the TV at home after a few drinks and I come across it I just think: Why doesn't my character have any balls?”.

“I've never had a girlfriend, or even now a wife, who didn't say to me, 'Why the hell didn't you stop her? What's wrong with you? 'And I don't really have an answer to that, that's how it was written and I think it's despicable, really.he added. Even though he didn't really like his role, Hugh Grant still had a good time on set, as he revealed at the Governors Awards ceremony in Los Angeles: “Some notes given to me by Richard Curtis are engraved forever in my heartincluding : 'And now make it funny' et 'Don't worry, we can cut around you,'” he said.
