Nicolas Sarkozy worried his loved ones after he suffered vagal discomfort while jogging in the streets of Versailles.
Nicolas Sarkozy is still promoting his latest book, The Time of Fightingpublished on August 19, 2023 by Fayard editions. On November 22, it was in a bookstore in the Saint-Barnabé Shopping Center, located in the 12th arrondissement of Marseille, that the former President of the Republic went to sign his work. Unfortunately, the session did not go as planned. The reason? A member of the teaching union of FSU-SNUipp 13 did not hesitate to take the politician to task.
Nicolas Sarkozy challenged by a union
“Aren't you ashamed of throwing the world of education out into the open?“, first launched the individual before adding: “Why are you lying? You know that we don't work 24 hours a week. We work 43 hours“. To which Carla Bruni's husband responded: “If you want to talk to me about it, you come and talk to me about it“. Subsequently, Nicolas Sarkozy kindly dismissed his rival. A sequence which did not fail to cause ink to flow.
The former French president suffers from illness
This is not the first time that the father of Pierre, Jean, Louis and Giulia has faced such criticism. During his career in politics, the founder of the Republicans came under strong criticism. He also went through dark times and the intensity of his daily life even had repercussions on his state of health. In July 2009, Nicolas Sarkozy also fell ill in Versailles while he was jogging. An episode which had particularly worried France and which Pierrick Geais had wished to return to in the pages of
the Élysée at the beach.
The politician admittedat the Val-de-Grâce military hospital
“The sun – monarch of these places – is high in the sky as it rushes towards the southern tip of the Grand Canal“, the journalist then wrote. “Behind him, the few security officers who accompany him in his race sweat profusely. (…) No matter how high the temperature is, the president needs to let off steam. He increases the pace, accelerates, sprints, then collapses. (…) Carla Bruni, who was relaxing in a deckchair not far away, runs over, just as a helicopter is already flying over the area. Nicolas Sarkozy is immediately transferred at the Val-de-Grâce military hospital.
Three weeks at Cap Nègre
Supported by a medical team and carefully examined, the diagnosis fortunately proved reassuring: “Nothing serious, just a bit of fatigue and heat, but he's going to have to take it easy“, clarified Pierrick Geais. To be sure to take care of himself, Nicolas Sarkozy therefore made the decision to leave.”to rest at Cap Nègre for three weeks, during which he exchanged, exceptionally, his sneakers for a pair of flip-flops“.
