American actor Bill Cobbs died on Tuesday, June 25 at the age of 90, of natural causes, at his home in Riverside, California. Fans of series and cinema are in mourning.

Born June 16, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio, Wilbert Francisco Cobbs, known as Bill Cobbs, did not begin his career on stage or in front of the camera. He served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years before working as a salesman at IBM and then in the automotive industry. It wasn’t until the early 1970s that he decided to become an actor and moved to New York. His beginnings were difficult and he supported himself by driving a taxi, selling toys and repairing things. His first appearance in the cinema dates from 1974 in “The Pirates of the Metro”. His career spans nearly five decades, with his final appearance in the miniseries Incandescent Love in 2023, unprecedented in France.
