Two months after his gunshot wound, Kendji Girac speaks: “I got lost”

Two months after suffering a gunshot wound to the chest, singer Kendji Girac returned to the incident in a video on Instagram on Wednesday evening, apologizing to his fans. “I really regret everything that happened,” said the former winner of The Voice. “I had developed bad habits. I got into a spiral that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I got lost,” he added.

He waited for “justice (to do) its work” before speaking in public. On Monday, the public prosecutor of Mont-de-Marsan Olivier Janson announced the dismissal of the case. “It is established that the shooting was deliberately provoked by Kendji Girac himself,” explained the latter.

“Soon” back on stage?

Why hadn’t he given any news since May 10, the day he sent a message? “I had to take care of myself and think about what had happened to understand how I got to this point. And above all, make the right decisions for the future,” said Kendji Girac. “As you know, I almost lost my life, the love of my family, my audience, my friends. My daughter almost lost her father (…). I want to go back to being the boy I was, that I am deep down. », says the star who wants to “learn from his mistakes” and wants to “ask for forgiveness”. “God gave me this second chance, it’s not for nothing,” he concludes. He promises to see his fans again “very soon”.
