Every year, Christmas Day is an opportunity for basketball fans to see tempting posters in the NBA… But next month, the league will face serious competition from the NFL, which has offered itself the services of Beyoncé. Under these conditions, the match between the Knicks and the Spurs will not interest many people.
In the United States, the major sports leagues, mainly the NBA and the NFL, have always shared the most popular holidays on the calendar. For example, for Thanksgiving, American footballers are in the spotlight with two matches which generally bring together millions of viewers. For the occasion, the basketball players are put to rest.
And a few weeks later, for Christmas, the roles are normally reversed, with NBA posters pitting the league's biggest superstars against each other. Except that this year, the NFL has decided to overshadow Adam Silver by scheduling two games, moreover with the headliners Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson…

Because it wouldn't have been fun to stop there, Beyoncé will also perform a small concert at halftime of the match between the Ravens and the Texans in Houston, her hometown. But in this quest for perpetual expansion and unchallenged domination, commissioner Roger Goodell has decided to send all these resolutions to waste.
In the land of capitalism, this beautiful understanding between the NFL and the NBA on Christmas Day could not last forever. Indeed, the American football league has clearly seen that there are a few millions to be made, and it is not going to deprive itself at a time when audiences for basketball matches are declining. Contrary to tradition, there will be no gifts on December 25.
For several years, Christmas Day has been that of the NBA in the United States. But the NFL intends to regain its rights, with tempting matches and especially the participation of Beyoncé… The audiences risk being humiliating for the NBA.
