Two authors from Mirebalais in the spotlight
Patrick Blotière is the organizer of this event which now has its loyal visitors. Like every year, authors are honored. This year two Mirebalais are presented.
Dominique Le Dan, passionate about fashion, wrote the book Psyche fashion ambassador 1834-1878. In the midst of the Romantic era, fashion journals multiplied. Thanks to the simple and ingenious innovation of attaching an engraving doll, accompanied each week by an outfit and a hairstyle, Psyché ensures its success. Throughout the pages, this model's fabulous wardrobe is presented: from the corset to the crinoline, from shoes to hats, without forgetting the essential accessories of an elegant woman: gloves, bouquet, fan, parasol. “This fashion magazine was rather reserved for the wealthy class”, explains Dominique le Dan. It allows you to follow the evolution of fashions in the 19e century, the time of Psyche's life.
From a photo by Roiffe in 1944
Jean-Paul Roulet, originally from Bournand, has always kept a place for writing despite his numerous activities. He wrote two books: The Forest of Souls et The True Story of Adélaïde Vernet. It was from an original photo in Roiffe that he imagined a story about the Second World War.
“She gave her secret to her grandson, her important role in the resistance and an event that occurred in 1944,” confides Jean-Paul Roulet. “Do what you can to keep your grandmother’s property!” » These words, delivered at the funeral of Adelaide, his grandmother, by a complete stranger, will turn Paul's life upside down. Through a treasure hunt skillfully orchestrated by his grandmother, he will throw himself headlong into a quest for truth to learn the true story of Adélaïde Vernet.
Among the other works to discover during this show, the book Resistant clergy in the department of Vienne is the collective work of Vienna researchers from the VRID association (Vienna Internally Deportation Resistance). Jacques Pirondeau and Jacques Albert documented the facts concerning priest Dubois of Mouterre-Silly in 1940 and priest Léger of Monts-sur-Guesnes in 1944.
In total, eight authors will present their works, and eight second-hand second-hand booksellers and collectors will be on hand to showcase their most beautiful pieces.
