After having already distinguished himself in 2023, Laurent Rodriguez does it again. This professional photographer from Montlivault has just won two prizes during the 15e edition of the International Festival of Culinary Photography held in Paris at the end of October.
Placed under the sign of the Paris Olympic Games, this competition sponsored by the three-star Marseille chef Alexandre Mazzia, had the theme of sport and food.
“I was inspired by the Olympic adage “faster, higher, stronger”and I imagined an orange hitting a tennis racket in a cloud of cocoa, an athlete made of vegetables jumping high and boxing gloves pulverizing a cake,” confides the winner who would compete among a selection of French and foreign professional photographers.
His series of three photos caught the attention of the jury which awarded him the Grand Prize for Gastronomic Heritage Photography 2024. It was co-chaired by Catherine Dumas, senator of Paris, founder of the Club de la Table française and Olivier de Tillière, president of the Journal du Parlement) and composed of personalities from the world of politics, the cultural world and the media.
But that’s not all since Laurent Rodriguez also won the Grand Prix of product ambassadors, whose jury was co-chaired by Michel Roth and Virginie Basselot of Euro-Toques France, and composed of the presidents of the thirteen main national chef associations. .
“I am very honored because it is the only culinary photography festival in the world, it is an international showcase where prestigious chefs come together with whom we can exchange ideas. »
The photos of the various winners will be exhibited at the Château de Valençay (Indre) in 2025.
