Long applause accompanied the removal of Michel Blanc’s coffin during the ceremony given in his memory in Paris this Thursday, October 10.
CULTURE – A timeless classic, even in a church. Nearly a thousand fans came to pay their last respects to Michel Blanc this Thursday, October 10, one of the most appreciated French actors of his generation. Not without a spontaneous and strong reference to his iconic character of Jean-Claude Dusse.
Died suddenly on October 4 at the age of 72, the French actor who had made comedy his kingdom before trying his hand at a multitude of more tragic or dramatic roles was honored in the Saint-Eustache church, in Paris, during a ceremony bringing together his friends from Splendid. But also many actors, directors and personalities from the world of French culture such as Minister Rachida Dati, or First Lady Brigitte Macron.
If fans of the actor managed to make their way to the pews of the church, many others had to follow the ceremony from outside the building, thanks to a sound broadcast. Because in the middle of the tributes and hymns, it was a slightly cheeky fan who quietly came forward to grab the microphone and sing the cult refrain. The audience followed him in chorus, twice, as reported by AFP.

At the exit of the church, the coffin of Michel Blanc was given a long standing ovation by a shower of applause and cries of emotion.
Michel Blanc is the first member of the troupe of Splendid to leave, leaving Christian Clavier, Gérard Jugnot, Josiane Balasko, Thierry Lhermitte, Marie-Anne Chazel and Bruno Moynot in a “ immense pain »as they jointly declared when his disappearance was announced last Friday.
