The municipal council voted on Tuesday in favor of sanctioning illegal waste dumping. We have issued an order prohibiting illegal dumping of waste and garbage. They harm health and the environment. We invest in flowers and developments to make the town pleasant and welcoming. These acts of incivility call everything into question explains Mayor Franck Pichot.

A cost for the municipality

The elected official explains why the council decided to sanction these illegal dumps. It is a measure of public health and cleanliness of the municipality. The Joint Union for the Collection and Sorting of Household Waste (Smictom) is setting up a regular service for the collection and elimination of household waste as well as bulky items. The recycling center allows the deposit of products that cannot be placed in the various bins. Illegal dumping has a significant cost for the municipality: financially and in the time spent by technical agents.

A fine of €150

Concerning offenders, the mayor takes action with the municipal police authority so that public safety and health are respected . The illegal dumping report is made by an agent. A letter is sent to the offender with a fixed fine of €150 . A complaint is filed with the police. Protecting the environment is everyone’s business. It is everyone’s duty to ensure the protection of the environment. We work for the common good, the general interest continues Franck Pichot.

The mayor concludes: We must hope that the offenders will have the intelligence to understand and respect the approach to the rules and community life.
