Dince this Thursday, October 10, actor of Guinean origin Abou Sangare, awarded at the Film Festival, is no longer subject to an Obligation to Leave French Territory (OQTF). The prefecture gave him a residence permit receipt, a provisional document lasting six months which allows the applicant to stay in , pending a prefectural decision.

But the 23-year-old young man is still not authorized to work, despite a promise of employment from an Amiens garage for a mechanic position, a profession which remains his vocation.

« I’m relieved, I’ll be able to relax a little, but nothing is done because my goal is to finally be able to work », Abou Sangare told us a few hours after this prefectural decision.

After three refusals of a residence permit, this decision, which remains temporary, owes a lot to the success of the young man in the cinema, which led the prefecture to re-examine his file.

Abou Sangare revealed himself in the cinema in Boris Lojkine’s latest film, The Story of Souleymaneawarded at the Cannes Film Festival with the Best Actor Prize and the Jury Prize in the “Un Certain Regard” category.
