After her grandmother’s stroke, Géraldine Maillet was able to count on the presence of her daughter. “Like my partner and the others, she was a support. She brought me humor, trash, derision and laughter is also very important in these moments”says Daniel Riolo’s partner. Although she moved away geographically, Mathilde was always there for her famous mother in difficult times. “Afterwards, she went to live in but at the beginning, she was often there. Especially when I went to Magnolias because it was far away. We had to drive an hour and a half there and back. And that’s it. “It’s true that I traveled with her in the car. It was good because she played music loudly, she introduced me to artists.”remembers Géraldine Maillet.

Géraldine Maillet was also able to count on the support of her daughter during the writing of her book. As the writer explains, her loved ones “everyone was upset” by his work. “They trusted me and I thank them for that. […] They wrote me a lot of messages. They found it to be funny, lively and full of details. They found it to be very human and that it spoke to everyone. That’s also what mattered to me, is that I was going through something very personal and when I went home and talked to friends, they were more or less going through it.”she declares. And to conclude: “This journey is shared by hundreds of thousands of French people.”
