At the end of November 2023, NRJ decided to remove Sébastien Cauet from their antenna. A decision taken while the host was the target of a preliminary investigation for rape of a minor over 15 years old and rape, after an initial complaint.
The radio and the host had made this decision “common agreement” and that was only “provisional”. However, up to five complaints were subsequently filed against the companion of Nathalie Dartois who, even today, completely denies the facts with which she is accused.
Camille Combal arrives on NRJ
Despite everything, NRJ decided to definitively sideline Cauet and has obviously chosen to turn the page for good. Indeed, this Monday, September 30, 2024, the radio announced that a new host was going to take over the slot formerly occupied by the host who has been facing justice for several months.
This is Camille Combal as our colleague Clément Garin initially announced, as well as Maxime Gueny. “It’s finally confirmed! After months of discussions, TF1 and NRJ have finally reached an agreement. Camille Combal arrives on NRJ every afternoon at 3 p.m. replacing… Cauet! Officially, his arrival will initially take place over ‘a few weeks'”indicated Clément Garin.
Information confirmed by Maxime Gueny immediately: “In replacement of Cauet, NRJ announces the arrival of Camille Combal to host the station’s new drive from 3 p.m.. It will start in a few days for “a few weeks” as an “event”.
To replace Cauet
In fact, Camille Combal is indeed arriving on the radio as we partially revealed on June 14 in our magazine. According to our information, Fun Radio would have first approached the flagship presenter of TF1 “to replace Cartman on the evening slot”.
“We offer him 2.8 million euros per season. A crazy, historic figure, never won by any other radio personality. (…)”revealed our source. However, she told us that this activity was not compatible with her position at TF1 : “Fun belongs to M6, and TF1 does not want one of its collaborators to be affiliated with the competition”.
NRJ therefore presented itself as the best option for Camille Combal. And it is precisely the radio on which Sébastien Cauet formerly officiated that the host of TF1 will now accompany listeners from 3 p.m.
