Thierry Lhermitte in Riorges: an impressive crowd to welcome him

The famous French actor was present in Riorges this Saturday, September 28. He came to inaugurate the “home stage” terminal launched by the company Theaomai.

Crowded. There is no other word to describe the Leclerc Riorges Cultural Space this Saturday early in the afternoon. Everyone was there for one reason. Meet Thierry Lhermitte.

The actor known for his roles in The idiots’ dinner or even The tanned ones was present to inaugurate the “home scene” terminal launched by Théaomai (read elsewhere).

A (re)discovery of Roannais

But it was also an opportunity, for the 71-year-old man, to rediscover a new city. “I think I’ve been here before. I can’t assure you, because with my shows, I traveled a lot. I had to do one city a day,” he confided.

However, the Roannais was not completely unknown to him. Obviously, the inevitable Troisgros came out of his mouth when we asked him the question.

I am amazed to see that young people know this film and its lines.

Passionate about horse riding, Thierry Lhermitte could have taken advantage of his visit to the area to attend the Horse Festival. But, due to the schedule, he will have to miss it. Heartbreaking for him. “I have to go to tomorrow morning. I’m leading a riding course for three days.”

And how can we not talk about Dinner for idiots thinking of Thierry Lhermitte. This cult film which made more than one laugh and whose lines have been passed down from generation to generation. This time, no “His name is Juste Leblanc” or “It’s not the strategy that worries me, it’s the strategist” or even the Eiffel Tower made of matches. We ask him quite frequently. But it was difficult not to broach this subject with the actor. Especially since the signing session attracted everyone. “I am amazed to see that young people know this film and its lines. It delights me,” he said.

The idiots’ dinnera film to take as an example

This comedy with a star cast (Daniel Prévost, Jacques Villeret, Francis Huster…) is inseparable from his career. “It’s a masterpiece of situation comedy. It should be given as an example to many screenwriters.” Playing the role of Pierre Brochant was not an easy task. Not for possible fits of laughter. But rather to respect the wishes of Francis Veber, the director. “He is a very demanding man.”

A terminal to bring culture to everyone

On the occasion of Thierry Lhermitte’s visit, Theaomai inaugurated its “home stage” terminal. This allows the general public to book shows and concerts for various events.
The principle is simple: you indicate your location, your budget and then a list of artists is proposed. All that remains is to choose. Of course, it all depends on individual budgets. “It goes from €150 to €10,100,” says Vincent Marin, director of Théaomai.
No less than 900 artists are present on this platform: from locals to internationally renowned stars…
For the moment, it is possible to find this terminal in several Leclerc cultural spaces: Riorges, Firminy, Autun, Clermont-Ferrand… “The idea is to equip them all.”
Theaomai does not make money from booking shows, but receives funds from the rental of terminals.
Theaomai launched a partnership with Foundation for Medical Research. Part of the proceeds will be donated to this organization which “seeks to advance research to reduce the disease”. Thierry Lhermitte has been its godfather for 18 years.
