State aid

Faced with the increase in childcare fees, solutions exist. The family allowance fund (CAF) offers financial assistance via the young childcare benefit (Paje), which includes a “free choice of childcare method” component. The tax credit for employing a home employee also helps reduce the bill. In total, both solutions can result in a 50% reduction, or €5.06 per hour.

Revaluation of the profession

As for the cause of the increase in childcare rates, it would not come so much from inflation according to Marie Cavillon, CEO of the company, as from a revaluation of the sector. “The revaluation of salaries in early childhood professions, planned as part of the COG 2023-2027, is a crucial step forward to restore the attractiveness of these essential professions,” she declared in a press release quoted by Le Figaro. “We observe every day the positive impact of fair remuneration on the quality of childcare services.”
