A man in his thirties received a stab wound which seriously injured him during a brawl between amateur football players on Saturday in Lyon.
A fight broke out in the middle of the day for an unknown reason on a football field in the Gerland district in the south of the city, where non-club licensed players were competing, according to the prefecture. A man then stabbed another player, aged 33, one or more times before fleeing.
The victim was transferred to hospital in absolute emergency, firefighters said. At the start of the evening, his life was no longer in danger, according to the prefecture.
