Aveyron has distinguished itself at Sirah in Lyon, the International Restoration Show, where the Millavois Baptiste Jacob finished 2nd in the French Bakers Cup and the Ruthenian Fabienne Célard 3rd in the French Cup of cheese makers.
In Sirah in Lyon, the world's Mecca of catering with its 200,000 visitors, two Aveyronnais have achieved a real feat. In this lounge which drains the gratin of world catering, which gives pride of place to the most prestigious competition, the Millavois Baptiste Jacob on the one hand, in bakery, and the Ruthenian Fabienne Célard on the other hand, in cheeses, have succeeded to climb on the podium of the French Cup of their specialty.
Third, then second
After third place in 2023, the Millavois Baptiste Jacob, within the same trio formed with Benjamin Auriau and Yannis Thouy, managed to finish in the second row, behind the Pays de la Loire, out of winner, and just ahead of Auvergne Rhône Alps. This, by being as sharp as it is creative on his specialty: pastries. It was the president of the National Confederation of Bakery, Dominique Anract, who has given the price.
Then, this Sunday at the end of the day, it was the Ruthenian cheese that was in the running, with seven other competitors.

Since the day she had made the decision to compete again for this competition, she did not hide her goal: to get on the podium. Bet won, since it was on the third walk that she managed to climb, after the general culture, cutting, imposed platform tests and the presentation of “his” tray. She had made the choice for this last test to put Pérail in the spotlight, after having opted for the Laguiole Grand Aubrac in 2019, where she had missed the podium.
Fabienne Célard was preceded by Jules Mercier, a young cheese crest in Annecy, and Matthieu Thuillier, de Brive.
