Dmillions of Lego pieces for a volume of more than two tonnes: this is the fortune of Aurélia and Guillaume Lasseur. For them, the passion for the little brick started during the first confinement. They started with a box (the Star Wars ship), then a city of 30 m² (13×3). In their idea: buy, assemble and resell. Four years later, the objective has radically deviated.

While the ups and downs of life pushed them to stop their respective activities, hairdressing for Aurélia and truck driver for Guillaume, they looked for a place to put down their suitcases when leaving . Seduced by the village of Blanzac, where part of the family settled, they contacted the town which offered them the old tourist office, in the center of the village, to open L’Or there in mid-February. Bricks Coffee. The place that will combine their passion with their new profession.

Upstairs, a whole world of Lego where children can have fun, especially during birthdays for which Guillaume offers the privatization of the room for a fee of 5 euros per child (maximum 10 given the premises ). The snack will be offered and a Lego box given as a gift to the receiving child. The boss even thought of the invitation cards; on the same theme, of course.

On the ground floor, Aurélia is organizing the cocooning coffee shop, where she will offer tastings of coffee, chocolate and non-alcoholic drinks. To do this, she contacted a local roaster, La Brûlerie du montagne noir, in Champniers, Café Launay, for flavored coffees (espresso, latte, cappuccino, etc.). The teas and herbal teas will come from . She plans to add some homemade treats: muffins, cakes and cookies. Furthermore, having created her craft micro-enterprise manufacturing costume jewelry and scented candles, she will reserve a place for her creations in the premises.

In schools or nursing homes

The couple didn’t wait for the coffee shop to share their passion. Both already hold exhibitions, host weddings, birthdays, festivals, markets, etc. They travel to nursing homes and schools for memory and dexterity workshops. To do this, they do not hesitate to move their creations and the numerous pieces that make them up and offer them to the curiosity of visitors.

At their home, an entire room is devoted to it, including a wall of racks containing thousands of bricks arranged by size and color. “I know where each piece I need to construct my subjects is stored,” explains Guillaume Lasseur. The couple of passionate collectors also have models that are no longer offered for sale by Lego, which makes them rare.

Later, the couple plans to organize themed evenings, games evenings, but always putting Lego in a place of honor. A luminous Eiffel Tower, one meter and sixty high, with more than ten thousand pieces, will take pride of place there.
