MercadOr 2024 Export Gala: SERDEX International reveals the winning companies

SERDEX International revealed the four winning companies of the 2024 edition of the MercadOr export gala last week. Each year, MercadOr Québec honors companies that have distinguished themselves in exporting, whether through their services, their products or their expertise.

The winner in the “New Exporter” category is Fabtech ID, a Chicoutimi company whose vision is to make the working world safer. To do this, it offers a complete portfolio of products and services related to the management of hazardous energies, including padlocking products designed and manufactured in Quebec. In 2022, Fabtech ID made a major breakthrough by participating in its first trade fair outside Quebec in Florida.

Sustained growth in exports

The honors went to the Mapgears company, also from Chicoutimi, in the “Sustained growth in exports” category. Leader in the intelligent mapping industry, Mapgears simplifies access to real-time geospatial information for its customers and their users.

It is in particular by establishing collaborations with partners such as Polaris that Mapgears has managed to stimulate its growth.

Market diversification

Then, in the “Market diversification” category, the winning company is Congelerie Héritier de Normandin. The collective of 35 agricultural producers is constantly canvassing international processors so that they can integrate wild blueberries into their products. Congelerie Héritier’s successes include Confiture Bonne Maman in France, Starbucks scones in England and Sara Lee Tarts in the United States.

Export leader

Finally, in the “Export Leader” category, the Chicoutimi company Fusium was awarded the MercadOr 2024 prize. Fusium works in the foundry sector. The company is recognized for combining the traditional know-how of its foundries with the most modern technologies in each of its three facilities, namely Fonderie Saguenay, TMA and Fonderie BSL.

Since 1980, Fusium has established itself as a major international player, exporting its products to the United States, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia.
