Clearly, the private sector is taking over from the very significant public investments made in recent years in the Vallée de Gère in Vienne, the city’s former textile valley, full of industrial wastelands. However, these are gradually being transformed into housing. After the project to transform the Béal factory into apartments, not far from there is the former JMA factory where 37 housing units should soon see the light of day.

We thus learned on Tuesday June 25 at the community council of Vienne Condrieu Agglomération that the former JMA factory, first hosting textiles, then a wood veneer company installed at no. 64 rue Victor Faugier, was going to be transformed into 37 accommodations.

An operation facilitated by an “Urban Partnership Project” agreement providing for the financial support of all or part of the public facilities induced by this project by the promoter and voted on by community elected officials.

Thus, the manufacturer undertakes to contribute to the cost of nearby buried containers.
More precisely, these are four buried household waste containers, but also three selective collections, as well as another glass one, located not far from the future residential building, at two points on Place Louis Revol.

“A nice project”, for Thierry Kovacs, president of Vienne Condrieu Agglomération.

The total cost of spending on these public facilities is around 300,000 euros.

Within the former Béal factory, also…

This building project follows another similar construction project in another former factory, in this case that of Béal also located in Vallée de Gère located not far away, which should also be transformed into a building. dwellings.

This is what we learned during the inauguration last Friday, November 17, in the presence of nearly two hundred guests of the very large and new Béal factory in Pont-Evêque, therefore freeing up the premises of its historic factory of the Gére Valley.

This was confirmed by Frédéric Béal, general manager of the world leader in mountaineering rope, who then explained that he was in negotiations with a developer to install housing in this former factory.

A promoter that he did not yet cite to the extent that if the agreement was signed, “suspensive clauses” would then exist.

The transformation of this factory into housing requires a change in the PLU (Local Urban Planning Plan), an approach seen in a positive way by the Viennese municipality, he assured; without being contradicted…
