The Boucherville company Les Gicleurs Acme won third place in the Family Succession category of the Les Médaillés de la succession competition.

Organized by PwC Canada since 2006, this competition celebrates successes achieved as part of a family transfer or an acquisition by employees or buyers. Six Quebec companies were crowned.

Takeover is at the heart of the province’s economic activity, with a growing number of business transfers now outpacing the creation of new businesses in Quebec.

“While 6 out of 10 business owners intend to sell or transfer their business over the next 10 years, it is even more important to recognize and promote the success of local buyers,” informs PwC Canada in A press release.

Entrepreneurship is at the heart of the province’s economic activity. For the first time in 2021, the number of business transfers exceeded the creation of new businesses in Quebec.

“Repreneurship plays an essential role within our community. Sometimes little known, it represents a real economic engine for all regions of Quebec in addition to ensuring the sustainability of already well-established businesses,” recalls Christine Pouliot, Partner, Leader for the private company sector in Quebec at PwC Canada .

The success of ACME Sprinklers

In 2017, a third generation of the Péloquin family took over management of this company specializing in the installation of sprinkler systems.

The transaction was finalized for a year and the transition happened naturally, driven by the involvement of the sellers, the support of specialists and the leadership of the new president and CEO, Yanik Péloquin.

“Our commitment to proximity to customers and the rigor of the standards and values instilled by our predecessors remains a priority as we look to the future with the aspiration of becoming an economically sustainable benchmark for societal and environmental impacts in protection fire,” says the CEO.

Over the past seven years, the company co-owned by Yanik, Sandra, Mathilde and Gabriel Péloquin has experienced exceptional growth, multiplying its sales by seven while doubling its workforce.
