The events occurred on Sunday May 26 on the A1 motorway. It was the prefecture of the Somme department which published the information on its Facebook page on June 1.

The men of Roye’s motorized peloton controlled a driver at 212 km/h while the speed is limited to 130 km/h! That’s a speeding excess of over 82 km/h for this driver behind the wheel of a BMW.

The sanctions were not long in coming for our motorist. The police immediately revoked his driving license. This is suspended for six months. A tow truck came to collect his powerful German car to take it to the pound.

Other sanctions expected for the driver

That’s not all.

The courts could summon him and apply the sanctions provided for by the Highway Code. Namely a withdrawal of six points from his driving license and up to €1,500 fine.

And it might not stop there.

Additional sentences could be imposed by the police court. For example, an extension of the suspension of your driving license, the obligation to follow a road safety awareness course or even a ban on driving a motor vehicle (car, motorcycle, etc.).

Sanctions which will depend on the good faith of the driver but also on his driving history.

To sum up

Head to the North of France for this big speeding incident committed by a driver on the highway. He was traveling at more than 200 km/h while the speed was limited to 130 km/h.
