Lhe Dutch Basic-Fit gym chain, also present in Belgium, wants to work on a franchise model from next year. The publicly traded company confirmed the news on Friday when it published its preliminary results. The goal is to open gyms in new countries by 2025.

The franchise model will allow independents to use the Basic-Fit brand, upon payment to the company. According to the Dutch group, this model is less expensive and “opens up the possibilities” for expansion in other countries.

Basic-Fit indicates that it is already in discussions with potential investors interested in these franchises. The first rooms under this model could thus open “during 2025”. The new countries concerned have not been specified. The group is currently present in six countries, with a contingent of 1,570 sports halls, including 229 in Belgium.

Subscriptions will also experience a change in the coming months, Basic-Fit specifies in its press release. These will now be applied on a weekly model, and no longer monthly. These new prices were introduced on October 1 in , with a classic subscription planned at 4.99 euros per week, compared to 19.99 euros every four weeks previously.
