In order to help fashion designers in the daily management of their businesses, a tech entrepreneur has implemented a tailor-made solution.

ProCouture is a digital solution developed by a young Ivorian company. The start-up, founded by Adama Bakayoko, aims to help tailors, in this case those in the informal sector, to better manage their workshops.

“Out of all the tailors we have had, only a few manage to know how much they earn per month. It’s good to have elements, indicators. […] the software allows us to go out and see if the business is going well,” explains Adam Bakayoko.

The solution is available on iOS and Android where it has already been downloaded more than 500 times, according to Play Store data. The user creates an account and accesses the various functionalities of the solution. Among other things, it integrates appointment reminders, customer management, cash register management, statistics, production management and even supplier management. It should be noted that better management of their workshops could allow tailors to access financing from financial institutions.

ProCouture also includes an online store. The designer can thus launch into ready-to-wear with the mobile or web application. From his computer or smartphone, he can manage this online store in addition to daily customer orders. Access to the platform’s features requires a subscription, the cost of which amounts to 3000 FCFA (approximately $5). In 2024, the young company wins second prize in the Ivorian stage of the Prize for social entrepreneurs in Africa and the Middle East.
