Access to the Salindres chemical site restored. After more than two weeks of conflict, Solvay management and the CGT signed a strike exit protocol this Thursday morning. The group announced in the fall of 2025 the cessation of production of TFA and fluorinated derivatives, TFA for trifluoroacetic acid, eternal pollutants and the elimination of 68 positions. It was difficult to hold on any longer, especially since the blockage of the bridge impacted Axens – the other Salindres factory – collateral victim of a conflict in which it had nothing to do.

There remain 53 employees on the floor, but the memorandum of understanding provides maintaining around ten positions and if possible reclassification of permanent jobs. The agreement concluded also provides for €40,000 for each employee and a statutory bonus of 8 to 30 months’ salary depending on age and length of service in the company.

The job protection plan runs until December 11, remains to be negotiated, part I (social) and part IV “we have had expertise regarding PFAS” adds Damien Olry, “on which we will rely for the negotiations to come,*’it’s them who made us breathe these products, it’s up to them to pay***’.
