The previous record of 1,326, obtained in 2019 in Belgium, has therefore been exceeded. There were approximately 2,000 of them when the convoy arrived Sunday morning in Quebec, although the total number of cars gathered was still to be determined at the time of writing these lines.

“But I made sure I was the 1327e in the convoy,” proudly says Sylvie Provencher, president of the North Shore Mustang club and organizer of the event.

“I’m happy to see so many passionate people having fun together. Because that’s what being a Mustang enthusiast is all about: seeing people come together for this legendary vehicle,” she adds.

The convoy ended in the parking lot of the Videotron Center in Quebec, where fans of the muscle car American were able to admire models from several different years.

The model is also celebrating its 60the anniversary, the first generation of Mustang having been manufactured by Ford in 1964.

“When I was young, I saw people driving Mustangs and it was a dream,” says Germain Lessard, who traveled to Thetford Mines with his family to participate in the rally. “On the road, it’s incredible! It’s like you’re in another universe.”

The Church of the Car

Deacon Luc Leblanc was also on site to bless the drivers.

“For me, there’s no doubt that this is truly a church event. It brings people together […], it’s an opportunity for relationships, sharing, friendships, joy,” summarizes the man who is not, however, the owner of a Mustang. “I still enjoy the whole story [de la voiture].”

Owners from the United States, but also from France and Belgium – organizers of the last record – were also there in Quebec.
