AI: US startup Lozera will launch a data center in Morocco

American technology start-up Iozera, in collaboration with the Moroccan government, announces an initiative aimed at transforming the artificial intelligence (AI) sector in Morocco. On May 8 in Austin, Texas, it will sign a memorandum of understanding for the establishment of a data center and a 386 MW AI hub in Tetouan.

“This strategic partnership is designed to democratize access to advanced AI computing resources, improving the availability of GPU-based processing Graphics Processing Unit) for researchers, startups and enterprises in the United States, Morocco and the world”, explains Lozera. One of the key features of this initiative is its commitment to sustainability, leveraging Morocco’s strong renewable energy resources to power the facility.

The signing of the memorandum of understanding is planned at the Capital Factory in Austin in the presence of Mohcine Jazouli, Minister Delegate in charge of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies, Ghita Mezzour, Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administration Reform as well as a large delegation from the Moroccan government and the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE).
