A Lac-Saint-Jean senior couldn’t be happier Saturday morning when he learned that he had just become the 20th Tanguay millionaire. The one who could hardly believe what had just happened assured that he would take advantage of the amount to spoil his family.
“It was going well, but now it’s even better. », said Laurier Genest, who was barely recovering from his emotions.
A retired welder, who lives in Normandin, Lac-Saint-Jean, was one of the 10 finalists in the 20th edition of La Vente du Million Tanguay, the final draw of which took place live on the show Salut Bonjour Weekend, on TVA.

Mr. Genest first says he intends to buy a brand new car which will probably not have time to rust since he plans to change it every year, now that he is a millionaire.
He also plans to spoil his wife, Madeleine Painchaud, who would like to buy new jewelry and enjoy life. In addition to having travel plans, the Normandinois also confided that his only son will also benefit from a new car and a good amount of money soon.
An expense that pays off big
It was by happy coincidence that the octogenarian participated in the competition which was held from February 19 to April 28. Mr. Genest then purchased a GE stove as well as a BEST kitchen hood, purchases which ultimately brought him big returns.
In addition to winning the grand prize, Mr. Genest also won a Tanguay gift card worth $5,000. A gift which was also given to the nine other finalists of the Million Sale.
Present on site, Charles Tanguay, president of the company, could not be happier on the television set.
