A bakery in the town of Cajarc in the Lot was raided at the end of the week.

For this small village in the Lot with its 1,200 inhabitants, it’s simple: “That’s all we’ve been talking about since this morning”, says a restaurateur from Cajarc. Around 5:30 p.m., Thursday May 2, 2024, around twenty police officers and gendarmes carried out several searches in the city center, notably in a bakery, located on Boulevard du Tour de ville. It was still closed early Friday afternoon, to the great dismay of customers who tried to enter. “Armband, Armed, and Dogs”says a trader who witnessed the scene, stunned.

“We only talk about this”

According to information from La Dépêche du Midithis raid would follow the opening of a judicial investigation by the Aveyron public prosecutor’s office as part of an investigation linked to narcotics.

When contacted, the prosecution did not wish to communicate or specify the progress of the investigation. For his part, the city councilor, Jacques Viratelle, indicates that he was made aware of an operation by the police and gendarmerie forces but without knowing the precise reason.
