Every end of the year, in every region, France Work accomplished investigation with companies to determine their labor needs (or BMO). The results of this survey, carried out between November and December, have just been published and make it possible in particular to establish the ranking of the 10 professions (excluding seasonal jobs) most offered in Occitanie by employers in 2024.
This “Top Ten” 2024 is very similar to that of 2023 and allows a first observation: in Occitanie, most of the recruitments planned this year will be done on low-skilled jobs, except in the health sector (nurses and midwives).
The 10 professions that recruit the most (in descending order)
Kitchen helpers and multi-skilled catering employees
Premises maintenance workers
Home help and personal care assistants
Caregivers
Nurses and midwives
Cafe restaurant waiters
Housekeeping staff in private homes
Cooks
Office secretaries and similar
Self-service employees
167,270 hires in Services
The BMO 2024 survey also points to other data, confirming “ a slowdown in hiring intentions » this year in the region. Employers surveyed by France Travail announced nearly 262,000 recruitment projects, a figure down 6.5% compared to 2023. The survey specifies that all sectors of activity are affected by this slowdown, including the service sectorstill the leading provider of jobs in the region (64% of recruitment projects, or 167,270 hires planned in 2024).
