Two Vizeron authors at the 1st book fair

If this is a first book for Jean-Pierre Mercier, it is the 8th^e for Véronique Hornec. At 65, retired from catering, Véronique Hornec had planned to write retired even though, as she explains, she has always written little notes since she was 11 years old.

I wrote a poem when I was 11 and I didn’t hesitate to put down on paper my impressions and feelings throughout my youth, as if I knew that it would help me write my book later and tell… Véronique Hornec wrote two collections of poetry, then changed universe completely, with two children’s books. Finally, she wrote her biography, which is always a particular exercise. It’s hard to expose yourself in front of everyone, I wondered what people would think of me, then I told myself that it was my life and that I had nothing to be ashamed of… In any case, it did me a world of good, it served as therapy! explains Véronique.

As for Jean-Pierre Mercier, 79, founder of the Mercier wine empire, it was only in retirement that he turned to writing in order to leave a trace ».

He explains: “II had stored some pages, family memories, stories about what my father had told me, archives. I told myself that I would gather everything together to situate everything, between the history of my family, the different eras, the economic and political situations that I have known. In fact, his book Saga in Lower Poitou, tells its story and various events. I tell a whole story, a family business, my hope is that it can continue. I wrote this book especially for my children and my grandchildren. So that there is a trace of what I experienced and what my father and grandfather also experienced. Life was so different in the past.s » , specifies Jean-Pierre Mercier. Jean-Pierre and Véronique will therefore be present at the first book fair in their town. They are both writing a new book. For Véronique, it will be a mix of real life and novel, it will evoke the fate of a slut.
