Rioters pardoned by Trump: look back at the assault on the Capitol on January 6, 2021

On Monday, in the early hours of his presidency, Trump offered legal clemency to those charged over the assault on the Capitol.

It then took less than 24 hours for the two main leaders of the riot, Enrique Tarrio and Stewart Rhodes, to be released from prison. Remember that more than 1,500 supporters of the president were accused of storming the Capitol in January 2021. In total, nearly 140 police officers were injured, five people died (including a police officer) during the riot, and the damage and security reinforcements cost $30 million.
