Synopsis

Japan, 1993.

That morning, at the Kyoto hospital, Yuna did not expect to receive as her first patient her sister Ama, whom she has not seen for more than thirty years. The situation is serious, Ama urgently needs a transplant from a close relative. But, while Yuna searches for a compatible donor, a new revelation turns everything upside down: Ama has been adopted.

To save her, Yuna will follow in the footsteps of her biological family in the North-East of China, in ancient Manchuria, where many surprises still await her. In her quest, she is far from suspecting that she will unearth one of the best kept secrets of the Second World War.

Between China and Japan, this magnificent story of filiation intersects the destiny of exceptional heroines in the chaos of war and the fight for life.
