Chronic infectious diseaseleprosy affects populations furthest from health systems. Stigmatized, people with leprosy suffer not only from this disease, but also from social exclusion.
The Order of Malta France has been working against this disease for over 100 years, far from belonging to the past. Thus, the association intervenes in 13 countries affected : screening and care, surgical treatment of after-effects, rehabilitation and reintegration and training of nursing staff.
(…) Without your donations, the disease will always continue to wreak havoc. The CHOM (Hospital Center of the Order of Malta) in Dakar remains the only place where you can be sure of being treated correctly and being respected as a human. We are well treated there (…). Thank you to all the donors who save lives here. I also thank the director of CHOM, as well as all his staff. Thank you for restoring my health.
